Is there such a thing? A writer having a wonderful life. Ed Grisamore not only believes there is and has many insightful and heartwarming stories to share. He also has found beings a writer allows him to share his outlook on life and as a ministry.
Ed began his newspaper career for the Macon Telegraph in the sports department. He began writing local columns in December 1996 and replaced legendary columnist Bill Boyd in June 1998. He has built a large and loyal readership with his slice-of-life columns about everyday folks.
He has received multi-forms of recognition for his works over the years. In 2008, Ed was inducted into the Macon Sports Hall of Fame for “contribution to sports” in the city. The National Association of Newspaper Columnist honored him with the Will Rogers Humanitarian Award in 2010. His collection of essays in his book, “Never Put a Ten-Dollar Tree in a Ten-Cent Hole." garnered him the 2012 Georgia Author of the Year for his category presented by the Georgia Writers Association.
The Southern Pen Bookshop is honored to have Ed as the morning keynote speaker to "kick-off" our first annual writers conference. We hope those who come will find they, too, can have a wonderful life of a writer. The conference will offer a balance of topics between the writing process and the business side of writing, attendees will be able to visit our Trade Show, and enjoy an after conference social. Early registration for the conference ends Sunday - March 31, 2019 at midnight.
