Monroe Community Building
602 S. Church Street
Monroe, Georgia 30655
About the Venue
The steps and doors to this building once welcomed energetic students before its doors closed and becmae dormant. In February 2014, the city of Monroe opened the refurbished building as a community center. The building's restoration maintained the charm of the two-story old school while adding modern amenities. An elevator was installed and a handicap ramp built on the front exterior. A paved parking lot is located behind the building.
This venue is a few short blocks from main street and is located near antique shops, the historic shopping district, and great eateries.
The Southern Pen Bookshop is excited with anticipation to see eager students, known as writers, to fill the hallways and classrooms. Each seeking the knowledge of how to build their skills, hone their craft, and grow as authors.
